Company Autocomplete by LEI Register

Who is LEI Register?

From day one, LEI Register’s mission has been optimizing The Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) code-obtaining process. LEI Register was established in 2018 after one of the founders working in fintech found the LEI code-requiring process extremely insufficient and time-consuming.

Since its starting days, the company has aimed to drive the industry further. LEI Register focused on the human aspect and established a customer-first approach. The company prides itself on its multilingual customer service provided by its helpful and professional team in more than 30 countries. With the fastest processing speed and leading innovative approach, LEI Register has grown into one of the biggest LEI service providers in the world.

What is an LEI?

The Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) is a 20-digit reference number used to uniquely identify parties in financial transactions worldwide, based on the ISO 17442 standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). The code was introduced as a critical measure to better the quality and precision of financial data systems for better risk management following the 2008 Global Financial Crisis.

Company Autocomplete by LEI Register

The newest addition for optimizing user experience is an autocomplete plugin. Company Autocomplete by LEI Register” is open-source software. Enabling this plugin will add an autocomplete function to the company name field in your standard Woocommerce checkout form. The information will be pulled from the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation’s (GLEIF) open database. With the requirement to obtain an LEI code rising, the worldwide database keeps going rapidly.

Simply typing a name into the company name field will automatically trigger Asynchronous JavaScript And XML (AJAX) to the GLEIF public database (GLEIF LEI data terms of use).

The plugin will help to streamline the process of verifying your counterparty, as well as pre-fill correct data of the following fields:

  1. Company name
  2. Address
  3. City
  4. Postal code
  5. Country

When enabling the plugin, the Company Autocomplete by LEI Register will show a list of matching companies for the keywords.

In case of no search results or other related issues, there are shown errors. The idea is to make the plugin clean and minimal, without confusing the users if no matches are detected for the inserted company name.
